Human rights defenders ACCELERATE small grants mechanism

DT Institute and The Carter Center have long supported HRDs as they carry out their courageous work in some of the most difficult contexts. In 2023, the Center and DT Institute expanded our support for HRDs by designing a small grants funding mechanism that includes the ACCELERATE funding mechanism. With this partnership, the two organizations provide rapid response grants to human rights defenders confronting unprecedented challenges to democracy and fundamental freedoms. The ACCELERATE funding mechanism provides human rights defenders with financial and technical support.
