DT Institute and Continuity Global Solutions Launch Workforce Development Partnership in Central America 

Today, August 23rd, 2021, DT Institute, a U.S. based non-profit organization that acts both as funder and implementer, and Continuity Global Solutions, a global defense and government services contractor, announced a new corporate social responsibility partnership that will close the opportunity gap for promising young adults in Central America. A contribution from Continuity Global Solutions to DT Institute will provide lead funding for the initiative, which will be housed at DT Institute’s Prosperity for All Fund and implemented by its partner Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), a nonprofit provider of residential, educational, and healthcare services to vulnerable youth across nine Latin America countries. Continuity’s donation will be an addition to the DT Institute Prosperity for All Fund pledge to provide $750,000 to support workforce development and entrepreneurship programs in Central America over the next five years.

The effort seeks to identify existing labor demands and provide the necessary reskilling and upskilling training to place Guatemalan and Honduran young adults ages 25-35 into open positions, with the goal of addressing unemployment and underemployment in the region. DT Institute and NPH are working to design two pilot programs, one in Guatemala and one in Honduras, which harness the expansive NPH regional network to identify employers and program participants.  

Continuity’s corporate social responsibility contribution to this partnership will anchor DT Institute Prosperity for All Fund’s broader effort to coalesce support from private sector partners and philanthropists to fund workforce development and entrepreneurship programs that address Central America’s high level of economic informality and pervasive corruption.
